Cashing In On Online Maps

Forbes magazine has taken a look at who's cashing in on online mapping services (mashups).

They note that traffic to mapping sites is up 20% over the past year and that companies are securing VC.. most notable are real estate ventures getting huge cash for implementing the services.. look at Zillow for example... they score millions in funding.. what's the model?? Well, you tell me. Is it worth millions?

They also refer to trulia.com, another real-estate venture that scored $6 million in VC funding recently... pretty nice investment for developing a mashup! The author goes on to note: While the portals themselves aren't generating lots of map-related money, countless start-ups benefit from Google and Yahoo!'s offerings, which both let independent programmers meld their offerings with their respective maps.See the article Here at Forbes.
