Palopia: The Next FaceBook Or MySpace?

The Daily Trojan, the USC student newspaper, profiles Palopia founder Trent Bigelow (no relation to Deuce).

Palopia is a new social networking site that promises to take the pain out of meeting friends. It sets the bar high by claiming to offer: perfect personal profiles, photo sharing, a unified inbox, better blogging, a connected calendar and groups/communities.

This will be an excellent way to see if my Transient Web hypothesis is on or not. I am going to bet that in three months we'll be talking a lot more about this site. Why? If they put their innovation where there mouth is, people will migrate because Facebook and/or MySpace won't be able to keep up because they're primarily focused on managing growth. That's the challenge in this Web 2.0 world. Someone can come along more easily and out-innovate you.
